Giant Finishing Model GB-4DHW — Spiral Bowl with Internal Separation Vibratory Cob Dryer and Polishing Machine. The cob dryer provides a compact, economical and rapid method of drying wet parts. The corn cob is heated by multi-pass hot liquid jackets which are built into the machine. The cob and parts slide by the hot liquid jackets to absorb heat. Hot liquid is re-circulated by a 3/4 HP pump which is located in an insulated tank with a 6 KW heaterand thermostat. The tank has a low level switch for pump and heater protection.The machine is designed to work with a range of vibratory finishing machines. They can also be used in conjunction with other forms of continuous feed equipment or used to receive products from bins or hoppers.

OPERATION


The parts are fed in through the side chute of the machine onto a bank of corn-cob media. They spiral outward from the machine bottom and progress up and around the drying chamber. At the top of the built-in dam they pass over a screen. The cob is returned to the dryer and parts discharge into receiving bins or with the use of a hand operated gate parts can be directed back into the drying mass for a polishing feature. The degree of drying is determined by the length of time it takes the parts to cycle through the machine once. This can be varied either by amplitude adjustment or with the variable speed option.

STANDARD COMPONENTS


HEAVY DUTY BOWL AND BASE is of all welded steel construction reinforced by gusset plates. The bowl is stress relieved then shot penned for maximum durability.

PRECISION DRIVE SYSTEM consisting of heavy duty spherical roller bearings mounted to the vertical drive shaft

NEMA-12 CONTROL PANEL including 0-1 hour process timer and lapsed time recorder. Control panel is JIC approved and UL listed. Standard voltage: 460/3 phase/60cycle

DISCHARGE GATE FOR BATCH OPERATIONS

ELECTRONIC VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE WITH DIGITAL TACHOMETER: An AC inverter coupled directly to the motor controls the vibration frequency. Push buttons for increaseor decrease of the vibration frequency are in the main panel. A digital tachometer provides a read-out of machine RPM.

AUTOMATIC GREASE SYSTEM: for lubrication of the vibrator bearings. Consists of a reservoir, air operated pump, injectors and electrical controls. Pump is solenoid activated to provide lubrication only when machine is in operation.

MANUAL AUTOMATIC GREASE SYSTEM: for lubrication of the vibrator bearings. Consists of a reservoirs with grease and adjustable cycle.

PARTS TRANSFER CONFIGURATION: for interconnecting 2 machines:

DUST COVER: Dust cover consists of a steel cover over the vibratory channel effectively retaining heat and corn cob fines and dust. Operator access is at the unload station. All machine drive components are accessible when the cover is in place.

COVER WITH DUST COLLECTOR: Dust cover consists of a steel cover over the vibratory channel effectively retaining heat and corn cob fines and dust. Operator access is at the unload station. All machine drive components are accessible when the cover is in place. The dust collector intake will be mounted at the screen level, removing all corn cob fines and dust. Unit also provides a negative air flow to prevent dust escaping. The collector unit operates on 110-115 volts 3/4 HP and removes 99.9 % of all particles. Air is exhausted directly to the shop. Unit is free standing, requiring 22 x 25 inches of floor space. CFM is variable 180 to 500 CFM. Exhaust is silenced; a foot pedal shaker is standard. The dust collector will be wired into the main control panel.

PLC CONTROL PANEL UP-GRADE: a ruggedized microcomputer with hardware and software specifically designed to perform industrial control operations. If you can imagine it, our systems can do it. Recipe setups for multiple types of parts can be preprogrammed and added to a simple drop down menu on one of our touch screen panels. Alerts can be set up if more chemical is needed or compound needs to be replaced. Mechanical warnings like bearing or motor temperatures can be added to monitor for potential breakdowns.
